OCEAN SPRAY NAMES NEW VICE PRESIDENT
Ocean Spray has appointed Mike Stamatakos as vice president of agricultural supply and development. Providing an essential link between the co-operative’s grower-owners and customers, Stamatakos’ position is critical to uniting their needs as Ocean Spray’s global business expands.
Stamatakos assumes the vice presidency with 14 years’ experience in Ocean Spray operations. His thorough understanding of the dynamics involved in bringing fruit from the cooperative to global markets make him instrumental in realizing Ocean Spray’s long-term strategy.
Commenting on the appointment, CEO Randy Pappadellis says: “In his new role, Mike brings the necessary experience and insight required to govern Ocean Spray’s grower relations, ensure a long-term fruit supply and deliver the highest quality fruit ingredients to the market.”
Stamatakos adds: “I look forward to supporting the Ingredient Technology Group’s advances in product development, driving forward the market positioning of the cranberry world-wide and ensuring a smooth and reliable transition from the bog to the store shelves. As demand for our innovative fruit solutions grows, I am excited at the prospect of expanding our business, which is deeply rooted in strong relationships with our customers. Ocean Spray’s heritage and the consistent high quality the brand represents make us the supplier of choice for manufacturers looking to innovate with fruit.
“The superior manufacturing capabilities at Ocean Spray mean that customers can feel confident in their choice of supplier.” Stamatakos continues: “Our SDC processing plants consistently achieve superior ratings from the NFPA and AIB. Using our patented technology, we are able to produce ingredients of the highest quality, all year round.”
